India's Defence and Technology Advancements

India's initiatives in defense and technology highlight advancements towards self-reliance and showcase significant progress under national policy frameworks.

Why This Matters

Defense advancements and technological growth have far-reaching implications for national security and international competitiveness, actively engaging public interests.

Public Sentiment Summary

Public sentiment towards India's defense and technology advancements is predominantly positive, with considerable pride expressed in the achievements of organizations like DRDO and ISRO. The 'Make in India' initiative and leadership under PM Modi receive commendation, and there is appreciation for Doordarshan's content delivery style. While there are calls for ongoing improvement, especially in technological areas such as engine development and overcoming bureaucratic hurdles, the prevailing mood is one of celebration of current success. However, there are concerns about India's pace compared to global counterparts, the need for more investment in R&D, and systemic issues like nepotism.

Heartiest congratulations to DRDO on the successful testing of the High Energy Laser Weapon System!

Hell yeah, god bless India. May they prevail over China always.

The quality of content has gone up really well in DD, recently. Great to see that!

Nice update of our defense preparedness with respect to air crafts, subs etc. Our defense procurement must be made accountable for delays etc.

Well done DRDO and team for your success. Jai Hind

India has surpassed defence expenditure of many world-leading countries

All thanks to PM Modi who started the Make in India initiative to boost the economy and job opportunities in the nation.

I agree that as Indian we have come a long way but I feel the defense industry in India is still budding and It will take its due course of time to mature and we have to learn from our mistakes.

If you worked in R&D institute in India you would know. I worked for one year for 'desh ki seva' shunning elite job offers and got frustrated and quit because of 'lack of work'.

Indian defence is too dominated by government PSU’s. Rather than production PSUs have just become large employment schemes and bureaucracies.

Our institutions teach fuck-all except for the very basics. Anyone who learns anything of value, does it on their own dime.

We don't suck at engineering, our missiles technology is one of the best.
