They should have focused on reviving their economy, instead of financing proxy forces.   
Their biggest proxy - Hezbollah, spent a year in South Lebanon making threats against Israel, losing both their credibility and effectiveness as a fighting force, when they could instead of   
strengthened Assad's forces in Syria.   
The Houthis fired hundreds of expensive missiles and drones without sinking a single defenseless ship - in the process ending any detente between Saudi and Iran.

He’s correct. It’s primarily Turkey who are the victors. If anything the US may be forced to sell the Kurds down the river. Turkey have won completely and can shape a lot of the future dynamic of the country. Their recognition and support will be vital.

Pretty sure Putin and Sinwar are the ones who set in motion the events that led to this. If Russia hadn’t invaded Ukraine, and Hamas hadn’t attacked Israel, then Assad would still be ruling Syria.

The US's role here is indirect, but yet still good for their interests and honestly a good reason for their continued involvement in Ukraine. This only happened because the US invested heavily in the Ukraine war to divert Russia's attention and resources. Russia is not the grand power they pretend to be, they can really only focus on one conflict zone at a time. Ukraine has drained them heavily and it shows. Plus the US continued support of Israel, right or wrong, lead to the destruction of Hamas and Hezbollah, further weakening Assad's regional support. I doubt US officials thought Assad would fall this quickly, but this is a culmination in American foreign policy the last few years.

Regarding Turkish claims on oil rich Mosul , the caucuses, the drying up of the Tigris and Euphrates, the Palestinan factions (especially Hamas, but there rumblings PIJ may go that way to)  pivoting towards sunni, muslim Brotherhood sympathizing Turkey and Qatar in the past decade quietly away from shia Iran, and away from shia hezbollah,  the recent proxy conflicts across the HOA for access to ports , Gold, minerals , I think it only a matter of time the Persian shia Iranians and Sunni Turks go to war, I think the Tigris and Euphrates as well as Mosul will be the flash point, Iran must feeling alarmed at Turkish influence growing at it own expense, where even Russia Putin has a frenemy like realpoltik relationship with Erodgan at the expense of Russia own relationship with Tehran.

Iranian news, media sources , influencers in recent years been blaming Turkey even more than they use to blame Saudi Arabia or the UAE.

He's not wrong, though exactly how big a role Israel played is hard to say. But the US and Turkey ensure that when the pseudo-ceasefire occurred a few years ago Assad didn't have control over the oil fields or their revenue. Combined with US sanctions meant that Assad lacked the money to maintain support either among the population in areas he controlled or--most critically--among the soldiers in his army.

The US did very little against Assad, and Israel only damaged Assad indirectly by damaging Hezebelloh so much.

His administration had to simultaneously support a decades long allie (Israel) despite the insane, corrupt war criminals who are temporarily in charge (Netanyahu) of Israels government, during a massively unpopular war against a terrorist organization (Hamas) all while providing support for the innocent civilians (Palestinians) who are starving and dying in the cross fire.

Then, add in the need to defuse a broader conflict with Iran and Lebanon while preventing an all-out war in the Middle East. 

All during a presidential election back in the United States with an intransigent, hostile Republican majority in Congress....

While the situation is far from over, it has to be said that the Biden administration deserves credit in the way it's handling this very complex multi-faceted situation..

But it will get nothing but ridicule and second guessed...

The most important thing to remember as the Biden detractors will repeatedly say is that Biden is old, and both sides are the same...
