The only good move in this scenario. Yes you could say that keeping the IPL on would serve as entertainment during these hard times, or the fact that it could serve as a show of strength. But it would be a bit distasteful to keep cheering for the IPL when there are people in the border areas facing attacks every day. It only makes sense that all the security should be focused on the matter at hand. Hopefully it is all resolved quickly and peacefully.

You know there is something called as information warfare. And while it's likely that the whole Karachi port thing by Indian outlets was just them saying this for TRP, you must also keep in mind that making stuff up to confuse the enemy and pump your side up is an essential and regular part of information warfare during wartime. And the other side is doing information warfare against us on another level.

You are seeing claims of "anonymous French/American officials" "verifying" apparent Indian aircraft losses on so called "reputed" foreign outlets like CNN and Reuters. These articles are coincidentally generally written by Pakistani journalists. Does it not sound intentional?

Now Pakistan is creating a narrative that the drone attacks in India are totally not them and they are making ridiculous claims that we are apparently attacking our own cities with drones (like what?) and what not. Don't be surprised when this ridiculous narrative pops up on so called "reputed" outlets as well.

They are also creating a narrative that we might attack our own cities in Punjab because Punjab is a Sikh State (again, WTF?) as well. This narrative could very much pop up in so called "reputed international outlets" too especially given foreign outlets have been creating twisted narratives about India and it's relationship with Sikhs for a few years now.

So while Indian TV media is not credible, DO NOT believe any weird thing you see on "reputed foreign outlets". Information warfare by the other side is very strong and they are doing it in full force.

All this is in line with how wars generally happen- Western media has been claiming that Russia is on the brink of collapse and Putin is on his deathbed for 3 years now. You could read up on wartime information warfare in detail somewhere to know more.

The bottom line is DO NOT believe a word of any ridiculous claim against India that pops up on so called "reputed international outlets" unless it could be confirmed to be true.

Right now your most reliable sources are official statements by the army and the government as well as DD News, DD National, DD India and such DD channels.

While I encourage everyone to refer to neutral news sources but should be careful not to be overloaded on it. Neutral sources, no matter how neutral, will have a natural tendency to root for the "underdog". So naturally there will be an inherent bias in their no matter how neutral they claim to be. This will be a conflict between 2 nuclear powers but remember the Indian context:

* We have been victim of cross border terrorism for more than 3-4 decades. This has been a long time coming and is a build up of the rage over inaction and also encouragement of our neighbour. India is not the aggressor. Never been. We have only responded to escalations from our neighbour. 47,65, 99, 2025... all were instigated by their actions. Even in 71, where you could argue that India provoked Pakistan by sheltering and training the Mukti bahini, it was Pakistan that opened the western front and forced us to formally enter the war.
* There are unconfirmed reports of Indian fighters downed and there is very little reporting on the enemy losing their assets. There is so far only report of 1 AD system destroyed in Lahore that too in response to their drone swarm attack. There is very simple explanation for this. Indian armed forces haven't properly targeted Pakistani military assets, yet. Their response has been careful and measured. 

Don't be disillusioned by the drum beating of our own media and the perceived lack of international support in International media. When it comes to India and Pakistan, we were always on the right side of history and the world knows it.

Whether you choose to believe it is different. However, the international response to all this has not been great.

- India is seen as an aggressor, there is no concrete evidence shared by the government that the terrorists were Pak nationals or any major links to Pakistan

- India has suffered losses to fighter aircraft, at least two, maybe upto 4, and the major item under discussion is Chinese fighter shooting down French aircraft and how it impacts other countries.
