It's like the adrenaline he had in 2014 started having a downward trend. And by the time it was 2024, it seemed like he just wanted to be PM another time and create a record, and he just let his Shahs do the talking and decision making.

Whoever wants to fill their pockets, please do. That's what politicians do. But have a look at us also while you are filling your pockets.

Give common class also projects and contracts. Give the common class also tax exemptions. Give the common class also freebies without bribes.

Every freebie that I have heard of has been availed by common class through some mental torture or bribe. If not, it's delayed. Has corruption reduced? No. We have IPS exams document forgery, we politicians kids escaping killing people with cars or guns, we have journalists being murdered for exposing corruption and the educated people being taken advantage of.

Where is the sports ministry? I have seen athletes laying in thr floor like a pile of clothes in trains for their travel. What are they doing? Where is the funds going? What are the minimum decent logistics for sports and its development? Until someone protests, there is no proactive decency of felicitating a winner no matter how small or big or popular the sport is.

So, yes, he started off well, but now it just seems like he wants to represent himself in the name of the nation. I just feel sad that I did hope for a person to bring about consistency and not the party, and that person broke the trust.

The seeds he has sown for behavioral changes regarding cleanliness, toilets, going vocal for local, and rural women’s empowerment will play a vital role in shaping the future framework of our society

I was okay till the 2024 elections. I mean, yeah I knew he isn't great. But he was good enough. There was development in at least some aspects. Instead of developing every aspect at a slower pace, he only focused on fast development in some aspects which made other things go to hell.

Of course, I won't blame him for other corrupt leaders of his party, I'm only talking about Modi alone.

But in the 2024 elections, his speeches disappointed me big time. He didn't focus on development as he used to before. His speeches were only directed towards certain sections of our community, thus dividing us even more.

But the worst of Modi is still better than current Congress and the whole of the INDI alliance. So I'll have to vote for him at the end coz our hands are basically tied.

The environment has changed a lot. 
Pre 2014 we were talking about jobs, beating china, tech and what not whereas today I see people of my generation talk about beef, sanatan dharma while trying every bit to leave this country. 

If you look around folks are hopeless that india would be the next Sub Saharan African country and not the other china or Japan. 

No wonder people are fleeing the country in huge numbers and the worse is yet to come.

P.S: I’m currently working in UK and might have to return back to india in the next 6 months and I’m literally afraid of coming back to my own homeland and raise a family there in future.

He used to talk about ground problems. And try to solve it.

Except tax terrorism, I think he's still the best PM. Amazing work in railways, roads and transport. Foreign affairs were handled well and so was the COVID emergency. Can't even imagine what would have happened if Congress was ruling during COVID.

And the best thing that happened for me is that finally Hindus got a voice and confidence they lost. Despite what people say on most Reddit forums, I think preserving our culture and religion is very very important for our safety. Look at what's happening in London and other important cities in Europe. But some people just never learn.

A bit disappointed- their investments in infrastructure could have been far more, they could have stuck with agri reforms, they have done piss poor on Manipur, I wish they fought less with their allies and got more done as a result, I wish they liberalized (UCC, education FDI investments, potentially full lgbtq rights, moved strongly to kill caste dynamic even as they fight within it), I wish they moved faster and more decisively on issues like WAQF rather than focused on creating noise about Muslims, I wish they told their retarded supporters openly to not be retarded. 

That being said, I will again vote for them. Their priorities are right even if their speed of execution is wrong.  No one else would touch 370, bring gst based unification of markets, put so much in infra, run the country hard on tech, actually put work towards bottom of pyramid, remove low grade corruption, even think about UCC and shutting out shits like ford foundation that can buy too Indian “intellectuals” for 200k a piece. I started as a Modi supporter in 2014. Not just me, but my whole family. We never voted / supported BJP / Modi for their religious rhetoric, but for the zeal and energy that Modi was projecting. Seemed like, finally, India would be on the right track. Red tape would reduce, corruption would be contained, beureaucracy would be functioning again, without the (unchecked) grease of bribery. None happened. Instead I see india more fragmented now, more divided than ever before, be on the lines of rich and poor, caste, and painfully the most; on religion.   
  
My father retired in 2011-12, my mother never held a job. My father receives a steady pension (he was in central railways for 30+ years) and we (my sister and I) chip in whenever we feel like they need any financial assistance. Sadly my parents dont understand how worse things have gotten. When they see us earning 5x their salary, they see developed bharat, all credits to Modi. They are too old to reason with, but sometimes I feel like telling them how difficult affording even basic necessities have become, with no respite in sight. Government is neither willing nor capable of addressing common man's problem. Everytime I see a rational voice getting momentum, someone pulls the mandir - majjid card and everyone, even the ones that have nothing to gain, immediately loose the sight to vehemently protect their respective groups.

Delhi Metro was ABVs direct impact on my life.

Modi has done a lot of real work and is making me ask for more. Plus he has worked on almost all the points which ABV was beaten for. Never in their dreams can Congress  repeat gareeb ko kya mila. He has really done good work for people.
Disappointments include no CAA yet and Farm law reversal. I need more disinvestment.

Negative. The defence aquasition of India has not improved. Indian navy submarie deal is pending. No plans for third aircraft carrier(will loose the workforce and expertise gained by building vikrant).

1. Good work so far with infrastructure. I like new roads, electricity supply, water supply,  food distribution, banking access, railways and airports. One of best periods in India in this.
2. Fairly good with defence and internal security. Clockwork like terrorist attacks may seem fiction to younger people here, but my generation had to grow up with it.  Not that great in some aspects, but OK.
3. Not happy with muslim and sikh appeasement. They should've been put down with iron hand.
4. Mostly good ministers like Parikar, Goya, Prabhu Swaraj, Gadkari. A few useless ones too like that Jawedkar and more.
5. Clean image, no scams unlike congress and others.
6. Not too bad handling of virus. States allowed to fuck it up.

Good but need to do much much more. I think they are working towards it but there is constant opposition and pushbacks over everything. I wish we had no neighbours like China and Pak, that would make things lot better when it comes to internal politics.

You also need to understand: a lesser known fact is that Indira Gandhi actually did want to finish the job by expanding the western front and didn't buckle under Nixon, but came under pressure from the Soviet Union. The Iranians were ready to enter from the west and fight the Indian army. It was the soviets who brought that info to her and advised her to stop. We would have been dragged into a long war with another enemy on enemy territory. Our objective at that time was freeing Bangladesh. The last thing she wanted was to get her ppl killed in a senseless expansion of the western front.

She did what she had to do and was right. Those were different times, different circumstances, different power dynamics. In '71 we had actually also gotten an approval of a loan from the IMF. We needed that money for us, not for the war machine. We had just come out of 2 wars in the 60s. Leaders often have to make the toughest choices for the betterment of their ppl.

Criticize how much u want for what she did when bargaining with the enemy, and after the war, but there is a lot of nuance to why she stopped on the western front. You have one of the strongest leaders today when it comes to international policy. Even his adversaries respect that about him.

And honestly, no one in this country, neither u, nor me know the enemy better than our NSA. If there is one person they actually fear, it's him. He practically knows how they think. You think he didn't game this out?? The way our armed forces worked out the escalation ladder is nothing short of amazing. Stay united. We can't let our different opinions make us turn on our leadership. Bring it on when this gets over, but it's definitely not over as of now.

Indira Gandhi refused ceasefire, has a war and won.

But what did it achieved, a thing for which indians can boast that's all.

Bangladesh gained independence because of mukti vahini, and 50 years later it is just another pakistan without nukes.

Even without india, the state would have collapsed on its own, there is no doubt. But we got a huge wave of refugees, that now we are dealing with.

No war, no refugees, no such neighbourhoods in our cities.

Look into global warming, entire bangladesh would be under water in 50 years, and then where would these people go?


A war would mean, a huge setback to our economic future, which would take a huge number of lives much more than terrorist ever did.

India should have at least demanded to hand over Hafiz Saeed and Masud Azhar before simply accepting the case fire.

To concede without making any big impact is what is hurting most of the indians like me. You see, Pakistan claims to have downed our planes incl. Rafael (also confirmed by the french sources) and our foreign ministry has refused to comment on it -- not denying it is as good as accepting it. Indian media houses claimed that we got their planes too but we didn't, as per our own govt. Hearing about one transport plane today, unconfirmed. Did we hit their ports? No. Did we damage anything big and visible? A big no. And no one wants to talk about the heavy losses we took in the LoC shelling.

In the entire war the only face saver was our S400 + other air defense.

On the diplomatic front, not a single country, except for Israel, said that it was our right to hit them. Our friends? All of them were advising for de-escalation. Not even one country spoke a single word against terror infra in Pak. But pakistan got open suport of many, incl China, Turkey and the entire OIC. And then they were also given 1Billion USD by the IMF.

Other than fully decisive all out wars, it is always a PSYCHOLOGICAL wafare. The pakistanis are winning there.
