You realize Iran has funded almost every proxy group at odds with our interest for the better part of a century right?  They supplied advanced IEDs to terrorists in Iraq the entire span of OEF/OIF.  They are responsible for the death of thousands of American soldiers and even more with debilitating injuries. 

They have been suppling their proxies in Syria with FPV drones and medium ballistic missiles firing at Al-Assad Air base for years.
