&gt;As the drugs menace case came up for resumed hearing, the Division Bench was also told that extradition process had been initiated against 12 accused with regard to six FIRs mentioned in a report earlier submitted by the head of the special task force.

&gt;The affidavit placed before the Bench of Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Harpreet Kaur Jeewan by Punjab Additional Advocate General Gaurav Garg Dhuriwala during the course of hearing said FIR No. 2, dated December 20, 2021, under the provisions of the NDPS Act was registered at the state crime police station, Bureau of Investigation, Mohali, against Majithia “in view of contents of the report”.
Three more persons Satpreet Singh, alias Satta, Parminder Singh, alias Pindi, and Amrinder Singh Chhena, alias Laddi Chhena, were nominated as accused in the case by a special investigation team.

&gt;It added that Majithia was arrested in the case on February 24, 2022, and was currently out on bail, granted by the high court on August 10, 2022. “The remaining three accused are yet to be arrested in this case. They are at present residing in Canada”.

Yes, hire a lawyer immediately, it makes a world of difference.

By default, the cops abuse their position and will restrict his calls and force him to confess to additional charges that he might be innocent of. Hopefully he hasnt signed off anything yet.

Get a lawyer involved and if they play their cards right, he should be out within a couple months or slightly longer (Judge appointments take forever) with a fine and no deportation.

His immigration status is the least of his concerns right now. You give no info regarding his drug case which is the real issue here. His consequences could range from simple deportation to the death penalty. Getting a criminal defense lawyer for him is what you need to do now. Hopefully he hasn’t made any statements or signed anything in the meantime

Depends on how intense his involvement was. If he was around and innocent it’s one thing. If he’s directly involved in dealing. Big issue. If he had possession (not intent to sell), maybe a few months or a year with a good lawyer.

During 3 weeks investigation time you need to just wait … no one can do anything at this point not even lawyers, so don’t waste your money on hiring a lawyer rn and wait for the investigation to close then you can hire a lawyer. Keep in mind drugs case is a serious case in dubai whether you have been caught using or selling. You need to be patient with it, these cases take long to resolve. Sometimes when a group or more people are involved in the case, the investigation takes longer than 3 weeks. 

Tell your brother to be patient enough to deal with the situation.

While you consult with a lawyer, i would suggest that you check their past records and have it verified. Problems in such cases i that  lawyers also doesn't get access to the detainee till a POA is made. Usuall,  lawyers will say costs of between 10 to 20k for the process and ask for an advance of minimum 5k. Sadly, this advance is non refundable whether they work or not. Do your research well before paying up any lawyers.

Typically bail is given after 48 hours. Public prosecution can not hold someone in jail for more than 48 hours for a use case, especially first time. Unless there’s “reason for more investigation” IE, they suspect more malicious intent (dealing etc). 

If he hasn’t been given bail and it’s his first drug offense, maybe he had a larger quantity on him that may be considered “dealing”. 

If it’s his first drug offense, and no intent to deal at all, it will be a fine and NO deport.  

However if he’s deposited money through an ATM using his ID to purchase illegals then he will be deported and get a short sentence (1-2 months) it’s automatic. 

Get a lawyer and get access to the charge sheet as soon as possible. Sometimes you may be able to clear his name because police made a mistake on the charge sheet and the lawyer can use it in court. 

Also, APPEAL the sentence. Whatever it is. 

Get his case number. Get a lawyer. Make sure the lawyer gets POA from him (he can visit the jail and get the POA signed). 

I hope everything will be okay. If there is no intent to deal or distribute your brother will be fine. It will suck and there might be prison time and a deportation but you can fight it (again, if no dealing). If dealing then he’s going for a long time sadly.

Hello there, sorry to hear about your brother’s situation. With a proper lawyer, your brother will walk out free out of this. I am not a lawyer but I do know the following things : 

1. If the police visited the house to arrest his friend that was illegally staying , they have no right to search your brother for any circumstances what so ever. 

2. Arresting an illegal resident does not mean searching the house. To search a house, means the police were aware of a suspicious activity apart from illegal residence. In any case, a search warrant is a must and without it the case drops even if there is concrete evidence. 

3. So simply put , your brother could not have been arrested if he was just being there at the time of his friend arrest. There may have been investigations behind the scenes leading to that. 

It’s best to consult with a lawyer, good luck

Well people are getting jailed just for being with the accuser. One of my friends friend had a similar experience. He didn’t do anything but unfortunately he was traveling with the accuser and that guy had drugs on him. He just wanted a ride but once police pulled them over, he and the accuser were arrested. He was detained and tbh not even his parents knew which jail he was in. UAE takes drug charges very very seriously. But considering your brother used it, I’m sorry to inform but unless you know some higher officials and have big bucks in your bank, there is no way out for your brother. Frankly speaking, there is no chance out of this unless yk some Emiratis or connections. Good luck man.

Get a good lawyer as soon as possible. Since this is his second offense, things could get a lot more serious now. One of my friend’s friends was arrested for drug use  despite trying everything, it didn’t work out for him and he ended up getting deported.Don’t delay legal help. Hopefully everything will turn out okay. Once he’s back, make sure to guide him properly and help him understand the importance of following the laws strictly to avoid getting into such trouble again.

I just finished the documentary, I do not believe Lewis did it. He is CREEPY and definitely guilty of other crimes but I do not believe he is guilty of the Tylenol Murders. 

I believe that Johnson and Johnson did it. Not maliciously but they did use cyanide in the quality assurance process to ensure the Tylenol didn’t have lead. Meaning- it was near their production line. They also settled for an undisclosed amount to the victims families AND the FBI won’t release documents on interviews with the company. I feel like this is a classic case of huge corporations getting away with literal murder.

If the mass poisoning happened at the source, people would’ve been dropping dead in every American city, not just Chicago. And how to explain the different lot numbers on the tampered bottles? Why were the poisoned pills bulky and deformed (clearly, this was done by an amateur)? James Lewis more likely than not is the guy, but he was probably careful enough to cover his tracks, so that he couldn’t easily be placed in Chicago exactly when the bottles were pilfered and placed back on the shelves.

Some lady put some cyanide in excedrin to murder her husband and also contaminated other bottles on store shelves to try and keep attention away from her.

I think one of the reasons she got caught was her husbands life insurance wasn't going to pay the full sum because of cause of death was undetermined or something and she demanded it be changed.

Jesus. Some of the suspicious people here are why people thought The Keepers was real. You cannot tamper with the manufacture of two different batches across the country and a handful of pills. You can do one of two things: tamper in the store or tamper in the Chicago distribution center. If it happened in the manufacture it would have popped up in other lots or other places across the country. The fact it was clustered around the same time and inn the same city leads to tampering after manufacture.

The Westchester Case suggests one of two things: tampering after the package was opened (maybe they didn’t check when buying it) or it was tampered with and resealed in a way to simulate J&amp;J’s methods. Anyways, this is why you don’t have capsules anymore.

I don't believe Lewis was involved in the Tylenol murders, I think he was intelligent but also loved to run his mouth and probably enjoyed the attention. I find it more plausible he murdered that neighbour of his and raped that woman. I did feel for him when he told the story of his daughter dying, perhaps that's when his mind went astray.  
I doubt J&amp;J were culpable, just because the pills were clearly tampered with and how they came from different factories but ended up in the same area.   
Whoever did it was probably never a suspect and got away with it imo.

I was an adult when this happened and I remember well. Thing is, I remember all wrong, I thought for sure, they said it was done by a man who murdered his wife by putting it in the Tylenol and to make it less suspicious he did several bottles and planted them all around.  

 All these years, thats been in my head, a man murders all these other people just to murder his wife.   I just watched this on Netflix and kept waiting for this to happen, it never did.

If it’s a cover up, why and how did product from two separate plants become contaminated? Why did Lewis refer to the FBI investigator as a worthy “opponent”? In ‘82, there wasn’t an ID check to buy a train ticket or board a train, and you could rent a car in someone else’s name. The lack of travel docs doesn’t prove he didn’t travel back to Chicago. 

But let’s not forget Lewis admitted writing the note on West’s kitchen table - and would have had to ignore blood literally leaking from the ceiling and all over the floor while in the house. 

In 2023, the FBI released video interviews from 2008 where Lewis explained IN DETAIL how how would’ve committed the crime “if” he’d done it, just like OJ did.  So the FBI DID releases tapes, and Lewis laid out methods and timelines.

He likely murdered and dismembered a man for money and got off on a technicality. At a minimum he has a history of embezzling his clients and extorting them for money - and he tried to frame another personal enemy for the Tylenol murders, as well as kidnapping and raping a woman and threatening to kill her.

J&amp;J absolutely was fearful of going out of business and a class action lawsuit over their packaging. I fully can believe they covered problems up at the factories - but Lewis has opportunity and an M.O. to actually commit murder.

Also, there was an Excedrin tampering and murder case in 1986 - the exact time as the NY case with a single bottle. Whether that was Lewis reasserting his signature or a true copycat, the fact the Excedrin case was the same time gives a reason and motive for the 2nd Tylenol murder, and why it was an isolated incident. 

J&amp;J may have undertaken a coverup - it doesn’t mean Lewis isn’t guilty.

I'm not a big fan of true crime, but seeing this confuses me a little. I don't think J&amp;J was guilty, but neither was Lewis. There were only poisonings in Chicago in 1982, no other poisonings were detected anywhere else. People died by taking pills right after opening the bottle, meaning the poisoned pills were on top; if it were a manufacturing defect, they would be more mixed together. Lewis seems like a murderer and rapist to me, but it seems like his crimes aren't planned, they seem like they were opportunistic. Then he improvises, which is why he kills, leaves the body in the attic, and then improvises. He kept the girl he raped in his house for a whole day. It seems like he didn't plan things, he did them on impulse. It seems to me that whoever poisoned the pills planned everything very well. Lewis only wrote the letter as an opportunist to incriminate an enemy he hated.

It’s not fair to these kids, but many serial killers came from BEING ABANDONED BY PARENTS (which James Lewis was. He even has a different original birth name of Wilson!) and extremely misfit, beyond dysfunctional homes.

One thing that never really occurred to me before is that if a person was going into stores and tampering with the product, why do Tylenol only? 

Wouldn't it be harder to catch if they did different products/manufacturers? The only reasons I can think of is:  
(A) The person had a vendetta against J&amp;J specifically  
(B) The person wanted to divert suspicion and place suspicion on J&amp;J to avoid getting caught

Not only would it be harder to catch the perpetrator, but on top of that, if they were trying to invoke fear, having multiple products, multiple brands affected would have exponentially spread panic.

Every few years this comes back up, but James Lewis was more than likely the killer.

James Lewis had a violent past. He was the chief suspect of the murder of a friendly old man named Raymond West. The police had him dead to rights, but they fucked up when handling his rights and all the evidence was tossed by a judge.

Lewis had access to poison and poison books.

Lewis extorted Johnson &amp; Johnson by telling them he’d stop the murders if they paid him. Lewis admitted to working on the extortion plot for a period of three days. In 2007, the letter was determined to be postmarked on October 1st, 1982. That means Lewis would have begun his plot on September 28th, the date the first victim died and before any news stories had linked Tylenol to the deaths. 

There is a photograph of Paula Prince buying the tainted Tylenol at Walgreens and in the background is a man who resembles James Lewis appearing to look at her. 

James Lewis even self-published a novel about a poisoner killing people. 

Why did he go free? Everything I laid out, however damning it reads, was circumstantial. The feds could never physically tie James Lewis to the crime and a case built on circumstantial evidence is not easy to prosecute. Look at Casey Anthony and how her case failed. Once a prosecution fails, a suspect can never be prosecuted again for the same crime. The feds wanted physical evidence before they made their attempt, unfortunately they never got it.

i have a rather simple explanation for this. J&amp;J&amp;J, both are guilty. the psychopathic rapist mass killer James W Lewis and the pharma J&amp;J. and they worked in tandem without knowing it! 

here is my pet theory. 

lewis laced the tylenol capsules on a drug store hop. and then post the mass hysteria and drug shelf recall - JJ had redistributed the tainted pills without destroying all of them! they most likely added in a new pill bottle with 3 layers of tamper proof seals. but the problem is the pills in the bottle are already been through the James treatment. 

So if they the authorities had instead taken control of both the evidence and the destruction of the recalled drugs - we could have nailed both the killers and prevented a few more!

I used to love every Netflix TC documentary, but lately they've been really messy. I read up on this case a couple of years ago and I wa hoping for more/new info. But nooope. Nothing like that. This one to me just stopped short of slander in regards to Johnson&amp;Johnson. 

Look, I have no trouble believing that a huge company like JJ is interested in one thing only, and that's money. And that they'd do anything to protect the brand. And I also agree that, for the sake of solving this horrible crime, JJ shouldn't have tested and destroyed most of the product themselves. 

That being said, the documentary left out or failed to discuss a bunch of key points that point away from JJ, so bear with me for a moment \^\^:

\-the FDA determined that the cyanide kept at the plants was not the same kind of cyanide used in the murders (that was mentioned as a short written info, shown so quickly that I had to stop the documentary to really read it)

\- testing within different law enforcement agencies showed that the amount of cyanide that was in the contaminated capsules would have degenerated the capsule within days at the latest - to a point where no person in their right mind would consume them anymore. This was only hinted at by the statement from one detective in the first episode, who said that the corrosion was already visible to him on the day of the murder of the first three victims

\- the bottles that were contaminated, however, were produced in spring/early summer of 1982 - had there been a contamination within the production process, they would have been completely corroded by the end of September 

\- The contaminated bottles that were found came from two plants only, yet the 1982 murders happened in a very short time frame in the greater Chicago area. It is highly unlikely that 1.) the same sort of fatal accident happened at two completely different factories at the same time, and 2.) the fatalities only happened in one area. The argument that we don't know how many more deaths might have happened in other parts of the country is, imho, only half true: yes, some elderly people might have taken it, died, and no-one would have thought anything of it. But: Tylenol had a market share of about 35% at that time. Young and healthy people took it all the time. The victims we know of were perfectly healthy and that was what threw everyone off and lead to the investigation in the first place. It would have happened to other young and healthy people in other places as well. And do you really believe in the aftermath of the excessive world wide media coverage, public product recalls, police and volunteers knocking on doors and handing out leaflets, relatives and friends of young, healthy, but suddenly deceased people wouldn't have wondered if there was any connection? To my mind, there is no chance in hell that at least some of these murders would have come to light.

\- The lady whose mother died claims that the extra strength Tylenol came from the hospital and therefore couldn't have been tampered with. It could have, sure. Yet there is no proof of that whatsoever. (I vaguely remember reading that there was a bottle of extra strength in the house as well and she might have thrown them together, but I'd have to look it up). Also, no other death that was connected to Tylenol distributed directly by a hospital or a doctor's office - again, the same argument as above would apply, especially in the case of young mothers, seemingly completely fine, suddenly dying....and then, a few days or weeks later, the Tylenol news came out. People would have wondered and contacted the FBI/police

\- The amount of contaminated capsules per package was not the same in all packages, neither was the amount of cyanide per capsule. This seems to "messy" to be an inside job

JJ definitely lied and kept things under wrap to keep a PR Desaster in check. But that doesn't automatically mean that this is all a big conspiracy and an inside job. Two things can be true at the same time.

Now, I have no idea if it was Lewis. There certainly isn't enough evidence to have charged him. I do think however that he would have been capable of doing it. And the fact that no one could place him in Chicago because he lived in NYC doesn't mean he wasn't there. It just means they didn't find any evidence such as plane/train/bus tickets or credit card charges to put him there. So in a way, it was right that he wasn't charged with the murders, but again two things can be true at the same time....he was suspicious. He was creepy af and I do believe he was a sort of Capone case, where they did only get him for the least of his crimes. I hope he rots in hell.

IMO - I am disgusted that Johnson &amp; Johnson lied about the presence of cyanide in the manufacturing facilities. However, I don't no who really committed those crimes. I wonder, could there have been copycat killers involved in this case?

Two questions

- Why was it always the extra strength, I would imagine if you are trying to kill people, you would mix up what you brought

- The issue with the Johnson and Johnson is surely you can tell a production line error vs tampering in the tablets. Did they even look at a Johnson and Johnson employee tampering with the product after manufacturing but before shipping? 

I always felt like it seemed like a disgruntled employee who had access to the pills just before shipping, which would explain why the tablets were tampered with but all ended up in the same area, I highly doubt the pills went from factory to store, probably more went from factory to regional hub/distribution yard to the store.

Side note: I’m pretty sure more people died from overdosing on acetaminophen that year than the poisoning.  By a lot.  I read an interview with a medical professional that stated acetaminophen wouldn’t be allowed to be sold over the counter if it were invented today, it’s so dangerous.

Its a 12 hour drive approx from NY state to Chicago. While difficult it wouldn't of been impossible for James Lewis to make the trip and then come back. The question is why did he choose to commit murders in this case?

Occam's Razor should be used far more often here. But it's always gotta be law enforcement or big pharma secretly at fault, per Redditors.
