It is complicity of the most dangerous kind. Two possibilities - 

1. The woman was raped and her father was pressured by IIMC to drop the charges.

In the 2023-2025 batch, there were few students left that did not get any offers by the companies even during the last week of placements. 

To keep their reputation of 100% placements, IIMC pressurized those students to opt out of the placements. 

So yeah, IIMC uses underhand tactics. 

2. The rape did not happen. Further investigation is needed.


P.S. if we look at the first scenario, IIMC might have told the family that we will not let you sit for the placements and IIMC has an expensive fee of about 28 lakhs. Most of the families take a loan from the bank and cannot afford to pay the price upfront. 

So if you are not placed, the debt of 28 lakhs is a scary thing for most families.
