I saw on his FB and on some page people just… defending him, defending him, defending him. The guy was a human being, but read the room, he just shot a bunch of people and killed a couple of women. He won’t exactly go down as a “real one”.

People with a record this huge shouldn’t be on our streets and are just time bombs. He’s literally had an offense (and usually multiple) every year for 8 years now. I’m not a psychologist but that would seem to indicate some sort of, you know, PATTERN. I don’t think he took the law very seriously. 

I assume there are many others like him because this “local rapper” rebel character is so common and cliche. It’s hard to feel anything for this guy. 

So many things failed here and he would’ve probably been better off behind bars and those people would still be alive.

This is the same guy that in Sept of 2022 caused 75 to get shut down due to a manhunt of a fugitive with a weapon. As much of a POS as this guy was, somewhere we have to ask why he was continually let out after showing he couldn’t function in society. How do you cause a major manhunt and shut down a huge traffic and commerce corridor and then be able to commit another crime less than 6 months later.

I don't know why the media has not released the name of the shooter. I know they wait until the family has been notified, but they've released the names of the victims. Id like to know who the shooter is for sure since there's a lot of information being passed around by outside sources.

I just posted an update to the original post but if it doesn't show, there was a restraining order made against him recently (July 5th) and this week marked an official court date regarding a case of domestic violence.

Ah yes, nothing says ‘“hero’’ like a man with a violent history who ends up killing innocent people. And yet, people are out here romanticizing him like he’s some kind of misunderstood soul! The justice system? A complete joke. Other countries have much stricter sentencing laws, and we need to take notes. He should’ve been rotting in a cell 20 years ago. But instead, he walked freely until he finally did exactly what anyone paying attention knew he would. How many more are out there, ticking away while we pretend everything’s fine?

It is the system…everyone is correct here. The system failed the innocents killed and also failed this individual. Source…former knucklehead myself but had a life altering experience with drugs and the wrong people late in my life. There really is NO help out there because people are different and rehabs and jails treat them all the same. It is all a huge money grab and that is the truth in KY. I hope these commenters know that Lexington is a blue city and just because it’s in Kentucky doesn’t make it bad. It’s quite a nice city and has one of the highest percentages of queer people relative to population of any city in the South

Based on the comments on FB and doing some digging myself, it looks like he was struggling with substance use and was angry with his child's mother about not being able to see the child. He shot his ex's mom and her sister, along with two men. Based on a comment I saw I think one of the men may have been the sister's husband.

It’s now confirmed that he knew people at the church. The women killed were a mother and daughter. He asked the daughter where her sister was, and when she said she isn’t there, he said “well, someone is gonna have to die then”

That church is right at the mouth of Jacks Creek Pike, the road where I live. I drive by it repeatedly on my way to and from Lexington. The violence in Lexington has always seemed a city problem, while I'm out in the rural part of the county since I'm near the end of Jacks Creek. This brought it uncomfortably close to home.

I saw that the son of the victim, Beverly Gumm (72), was arrested for MENACING because he went there to try to protect his parents, sisters, and other relatives/friends. Poor guy is sitting in Lexington PD right now having to live with the fact that his MOTHER and SISTER were murdered. And his other two male relatives are still in the hospital, one in critical condition. I get that it's the law but he shouldn't have to be in jail right now. 

Anyways, from what I've seen, the shooting suspect is Guy E. House (former son-in-law of Beverly Gumm, former brother-in-law of Christina Combs) and from his Facebook page -- he and his daughter's mother (who wasn't shot or killed, surprisingly) split up. Not only that but he felt that his daughter with special needs was being kept from him. So, I wonder if that was some sort of motive? But still, it's a devastating situation and shouldn't have happened.
