It's not fake, but it's not accurate either. The initial jobs report is based partially on actual data and partially on seasonal projections derived from previous years. It gets revised as more data comes in. And it most often gets revised *downward.*

I think it’s terrible that he’ll put his own appointee in there, because now we won’t be able to trust the numbers. We are already being gaslit on a number of issues within government right now, being told how great things are when the numbers don’t match. But now we won’t even have accurate numbers to compare the rhetoric to? The more he does this the worse it gets. This is bad. This isn’t just bad for understanding the job market - which many employers rely on to help them make decisions about whether they’re willing to take the risk to add more jobs or not. They use a number of data points to figure out the benefit or value of adding positions, but I do think the jobs report and seeing what other people in their industry are doing is something that they would look to.but if they can’t trust the data, then they’ll just go by their own data or sentiment, and as most companies tend to be risk adverse, this is bad for job seekers. The numbers are true and firing the messenger is not cool. The Mass DUA is swamped from the layoffs that happened in May and June - I was part of the May wave. I have been waiting months. Thankfully, I received a severance and have savings so the house is safe for a few months. 

I’ve never seen the job market this bad and I had to find one in 2008 knowing the market was going to crash. Companies are definitely holding their breath again and waiting for the tariff weaponization to end. I finally had 3 recruiters reach out last week but it’s been silent all of May, June and July. 

Hopefully I’ll be back at something full time by ‘26. If unemployment finally kicks in, I’ll be taking the rest of ‘25 off unless a decent full time job comes along. But I’ll need to start taking contract/ temp work if not.

Major economic decisions are made from these reports including the Fed rate. Now I don’t believe the numbers where deliberately falsified but who knows. The data was real under Biden, was very good, and getting better. But it didn't matter to the people struggling. That is what this administration is up against. He can tell everyone everything is great, just as Biden did, but how people feel will be what matters.

There needs to be a deep dive investigation into how those numbers were and are being calculated.  We know for certain during the O'Biden regime, the numbers were trash.

Constant BS inflated job numbers, only to be "revised" months later.  And the difference is two things.

(1) the corrupt media knew they were trash, sang from the rooftop the false data, promoting the O'Biden regime, then when the "corrections" came, CRICKETS.  Nothing from the media, nothing from Reddit.

(2) Nearly all of the job gains posted were government jobs.  For the majority of the country, that's not an improvement, that's worse than no growth.  The cure for this will cause pain and it has.  The administrative deep state needed to have it's head cut off.  

We wouldn't be in this position today if the data crunchers were not corrupt and political.  

But who cares what the government says about the economy.  When your neighbor loses his job, it's a recession, when you lose your job, it's a depression.  Because when you lose your job, the unemployment rate is 100%. Every administration lies about the reality of the economy.  And if they appear to be telling the truth, they are blaming it on someone else.  

Student visas and H1B programs have wrecked the tech world in America.  They are wrecking the medical fields, just go to a local hospital and look around.  It's happening in manufacturing and other places, I have personal experience with it, seen it myself as I travel and go to various large facilities, Indians replacing American engineers.  

I do not blame foreigners for wanting to go where work is, but it is not right for billionaires, or any political flavor to replace Americans with cheaper subservient labor.

The Reddit crowd is overwhelmingly a fraud and not honest.  Trump should have fired the corrupt bean counter on day one, not months later.  Trump is angry because the "accounting" rules don't apply to him as they did previously. 

Every corrupt political decision affects the economy.  Take the student loan SAVE plan.  The O'Biden regime knew the SAVE plan was unlawful.  They knew it would be overturned, AFTER THE ELECTION.  So did the politicians, so did the media.  But they did not report on this.  So now the Reddit crowd's and O'Biden's chickens have come home to roost.  The lower courts and appellate courts have struck down SAVE.  And the pain that comes with that is here. 

Had the O'Biden regime managed to "win" the election, the Reddit crowd and the media, and the bean counter would all be in on the lie about why the economy is in the shape it is.

My understanding is these job reports are conjectures made from data sampling from payroll firms and surveys. There is no database of jobs.  I guess in this sense the number is never accurate because of this.  The number is refined as more data become available in subsequent months. It is an important gauge of economic activity nonetheless.
