Read Gandhi's address to the nation where he stated that those Hindus and Sikhs who are lamenting the death of Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan, should remember what Hindus and Sikhs themselves did to muslims in Jammu.

Btw, the reason you and many others don't know about this is that the right wing loves to play selective outrage. They portray all Muslims as evil just because of what happened to Kashmiri Pandits while conveniently ignoring all the massacres done against Muslims before and after that. This is why those massacres are not highlighted, and only the plight of Kashmiri Pandits is highlighted.

Here is what happened, riots happened to kill all Muslims, and Muslims barricaded themselves in their area. Rioters put a siege on those areas, basically denying them food and water. Indian authorities went to negotiate with Muslims and promised them safe passage to Pakistan. They actually sent the first batch and then decided why bother when you can just kill them and no one will know. They took Muslims outside of the cities with an excuse that they were transferring them to Pakistan and killed them. Later, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Sheik Abdulla met in Jammu to discuss J&amp;K situation where they found out about the massacre. Both hid it because letting this information flow would make Kashmir's situation worse. Raja Harisingh, RSS, and Sikh army were responsible for it.

No.. J&amp;K MLAs are not as of now.. Art 54 is not amended for that purpose.

Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Ladakh are not part of the electoral college for electing the President of India. As per Article 54 of the Constitution, only elected members of Parliament, state assemblies, and the legislative assemblies of Delhi and Puducherry (among UTs) are included.

J&amp;K, though it has a legislature, is not explicitly included, and Ladakh has no assembly. The J&amp;K Reorganisation Act, 2019, hasn't changed this, and the Election Commission hasn't clarified J&amp;K's status. Hence, both UTs were excluded from the 2022 Presidential election.
