Even in 2011's census there were 36% Muslims in haridwar (look it up).... and even then I doubt the real numbers....

 Today they might be well over 40-45%

I think it doesn’t matter because(acc to some population projections) India is in the stage of millions of youth bearing working age that will lead india to it’s peak population in early 2060s and then it will start declining.
Now my pov, might be true or some or false for another 
Obviously fertility rate matters but it’s most of the conditions in which women bears a child if hospitals are lack of care so how could fertility rate be high ut doesn’t mean humans(indians) are not fertile in producing babies so it depends on another facts as well.

Almost every non married India coworker I have, has a family home back in India where the neighbour watches the home.

They all say they'll return some day but have no solid plans.

Then they get married, have a few kids here and suddenly they are looking at how to sell the house. Its an interesting demographic shift.

On the flip side my Chinese coworkers are all older, and if you ask them they would say they'd never leave China now, but at the time it was a smart move and that now that their family is here, they see themselves as more Canadian than Chinese.

I wonder if Indian will have the same swap.

Hear me out - it's actually good. I would say it should reduce further. People anyway don't have jobs. On top of that automation and AI will make many job redundant in coming years/2030's. There will be social unrest if we have more population. It's a blessing in disguise.

Not gonna lie, I'm not against in decline of fertility for this what... 10-15 years? We have too much problems in every corner of the world, especially political and economical, because we need another method - expansion through number of consumers is not good in our times.

Yeah, i might sound a bit bizarre, but we need to slow down population growth and focus on quality of our children education and health. Quality over quantity. And that's the political part of the problem - most politics don't want smart people, because they might go against them, if they do something wrong.

Andhra Pradesh, the state where my family is from, has a TFR of 1.5, which is lower than France’s.

I think India's tfr are skewed by UP &amp; Bihar. In 10 years that would change too. Most of the states in India have low TFR. If i am not mistaken few have something closer to Korea &amp; Japan
