This is absolutely horrible but I'm not suprised. I live in the US and the anti Indian sentiment here is also on the rise. 

My family and I moved to the US when I was 6. Some  guys in my class would make the most degrading and nastiest comments about women of color. It was rough.

And you are correct, we indians are so divided.Some  Indian men keep saying how white women are so much better and some indian women keep talking about how white men are so much better. I saw a video about how a few girls saying that indian men are smelly and how they would never date indian men. And a lot of Indian women joined and comment saying "oh don't worry we indian women also don't want indian guys". This is nothing but  promoting racism against the people of your own country imo.

On every Social media app, from our neighbours to even people from Latin American countries, everyone are calling Indians slurs, from scammers to disgusting smelly filth. Even here on Reddit on work related subs where they are usually professional they don't hesitate to call Indian scammers. Indians have become an easy punching bag for everyone online. This dehumanisation is spilling over to real life as well. This attack was just horrifying along with targeting the kid in Ireland. The Indian man beheaded in the USA received no condolences at all from them. 

While we have plenty of violence problems in our country, let's not pretend that encouraging racism against Indian men is going to make them spare Indian women. Dehumanisation affects both.

How do we organise? When majority of the Indians based outside of India are actually spreading hate themselves?? They support the hate spreading political parties, donate to them, organise for them!! Take part in the rallies, do havans and bhajans, thinking that if they do all of this, they will be accepted into the folds.

The hate mongering did not reach this level all of a sudden. This is an ongoing global movement, and hate filled right wing speeches and rallies are going around all over the world. The price for it is being paid by individual families. The moment you ask the question about spreading hate, people will start lynching you. As if you should forget everything that has happened till date and suddenly unite. When hate spreads, it touches everyone. If you say don't give into hateful narratives, they will call you liber****s, snowflakes, woke  lefties and what not.

racism motivated rapes are actually rare bc the disdain for the victim is too high in people with actually deeply held racist beliefs. beatings or other forms of humiliation are more common in such a scenario.
