Feeling sad for the lost lives. This is completely Man made. Our ancestors didn’t construct houses near water stream like this. Major valleys in Uttarakhand has rampant construction near rivers or gadhera.

Without proper EIA , allocation of space to build hotels.  I am not an expert but it clearly seems that this pathway is part of watershed flow. 
This is natural , no doubt but the casualties is on successive governments and individuals involved.  Everybody is just filling their on coffers.


Plus , there should have been an Early detection and siren based early earning system. 


Now I hope that NDRF and SDRF work is going on without any administrative bottlenecks

The plight of people from mountain. We lose lives because of incapability of receiving early warnings of natural calamities. Even if someone gets a second chance we know the conditions of medical aid in the hospitals of our hills. People have short memory in India, this incident will be forgotten in a few weeks and everything will become normal unless you are the one affected. Then some years later same situation in some other place. Mountain will not stop crying. Just pray that it's not your turn next time.

This is why I don't like development. Not because development brings facilities and opportunities, but because India never works on sustainable development. Balantly disregarding nature as it is, and blowing off hills, what were they expecting?
