I don't think Turkey will join a defense pact that could compel it to get bogged down in a Middle Eastern war because this could leave Turkey exposed against a Russian attack. The only mutual defense treaty Turkey has other than NATO is with Azerbaijan, and that's because it's consistent with Russian containment.

Anyway, our conventional capacity is low, especially 2-3000km away &amp; we are NOT nuking anyone for occasional airstrikes on our ally.

So unless we start seeing stuff like bilateral command center, joint mass defence production of critical weapons, regular interoperability exercises, 5th gen platforms, this pact is as useless in non-nuclear war as GCC's own mutual defence pact.

If Saudi are serious and start investing in the pact today, maybe the agreement will have teeth by 2035-40. As it stands now, it's just a paper

If I was in control of this I would pick to join Saudi and Pak:

- Afghanistan: incredibly battle tested army who will fight any day of the week with the right financial support

- Egypt: they have some of the worlds largest stockpiles of artillery and also vast stockpiles of military vehicles 

- Yemen: Just like the Afghans, they are ready 

- Syria and Lebanon: both strategically positioned and are battle tested

- Turkey: great naval and air force fleet and hold good power and fighting force

I don’t think the alliance will progress to more than a few nations. Plus if Israel has the backing of the US to do something it will do it, everyone in that list combined cannot do anything about it. America/Israel airplanes are almost invisible expect for very few air systems which can target it. , which maybe turkey has in extremely limited quantity. So in short nothing will happen if people join or not it will mostly be symbolic at best.

Qatar and UAE are second India. They'd never have any alliance with Pakistan. They'd certainly join any alliance against Pakistan for sure. Same goes out for Algeria who are in total love with India and even support on Kashmir while blocking the same Pakistani passport from their visas on which Ben Bella gave his speeches in UN. Turkey won't jeopardize it's NATO membership at any cost. We can speculate about Malaysia or Indonesia joining such an alliance though. I'm still surprised on KSA taking this step but the amount of love, obsession and admiration Arabs have for India, they'd rather contribute to the destruction of Pakistan than making an alliance with Pakistan.

I think your wrong about Saudis coming to to learn at military institutes in Pakistan. Pakistani generals and high-ranking members of their armed forces mostly get military training in U.S OR UKs Sandhurst military academy Asim Munir being one of them. Aside from everything else I've mentioned, there is one more thing. Pakistans fight with Israel is inevitable. And our current arsenal is not capable of reaching them from our stations. If we're pushed into a similar situation as Iran, no regional allies and constant airstrikes, missiles being intercepted before reaching target, we will be backing ourselves into a corner. Ensuring a good deal with Saudi Arabia is a good step to decrease the impact of involvement of American defences from various stations in the middle east

Looking at the statements and actions taken by Muslim governments after attack on Qatar(and all the other MENA countries) I don’t think it will have any significance and I don’t think they will be really committed to that agreement.

I do however think that these alliances make sense. And the oil money from gulf countries can be that way distributed to other Muslim countries that have more strategic depth gulf countries in return for said strategic depth.

I don't believe it to be honest. Even if it's signed, Saudi or any Arab nation would be first to take side of India and break this agreement in an Indo Pak conflict. Arabs and India are deeply bonded and no Pakistan can come in between that bond. This looks more like a MOU which would never be realized. Or realized only one way where Pakistan defends Arabs while Arabs strengthen India against Pakistan.

This time again Pakistan will fight their war, get their soldiers killed while Saudi Arabia will keep treating them like slaves and cheap labor. Pakistan will get nothing out of it. The Pakistani regimes ( army..) has always used it's men as a cheap mercenary force for the richer Arab GCC countries. Their defence forces are filled with Pakistani recruits who get paid way less and is considered cannon fodder in case of a conflict. It's been on since the time of Zia. Look at the Yemen conflict. Or when riots happened in Bahrain. Pakistani men are used to quash anti Sunni protests. It's primarily a cheap source of Pro- Sunni legionnaires. The top brass of Pak army and a few politicians make a good earning on this. Some poor Pakistani dude dies on foreign soil and family gets a few thousand dollars. And still boys queue up when some Khaleeji army has a recruitment drive in Karachi or Lahore. 
Many of these countries give a few of them citizenships if they are Sunni to help skew the demographic - and they are openly treated as second or even third class citizens.

The difference this time is that credit goes to Modi and Netanyahu’s demonic actions, which pushed things in this direction. Complexities aside, the latest pact carries new dimensions. I did not expect this.  This certainly is a development of note.

Will this deter further Indian aggression?  Will this bar Saudi Arabia from more advanced American weapons systems?  Will Saudi become a Chinese client going forward?  Will Pakistan be forced to accept Indian aggression in Kashmir or with regards to water supplies if Saudis don't see eye-to-eye on the threat it poses, compared to Indian business opportunities?

Will Saudi drag Pakistan into regional conflicts in Yemen or possibly with Iran?  Will this make any material difference to Israeli aggression in the region, especially if Saudi/Pak forces are employing more advanced Chinese systems like the J-35 and their assorted drone platforms?

Need to keep in mind, this is not an equal partnership.   Pakistan continues to need, and will need in the foreseeable future, cash to stay afloat.  Pakistan is not a productive nation, and so the skilled manpower nor the investment in third party weapons systems Pakistan can afford, and that will keep Pakistan dependent on Saudi.

Also need to keep in mind that an attack on one is an attack on the other is limited by the joint capabilities of both nations.  That doesn't mean an automatic response by either party to aggression...both may decide to suck it up and release a harshly worded statement instead.  

A more positive outcome would be a joint industrial-military complex funded by Saudis.  That would be a multi-decade project, though.  And Pakistan needs to carry its weight, as its current industrial output is pathetic given its size.

Like it's alliance with the West during the 80s, this will likely be a lost opportunity, because of the shit bags running Pakistan will treat it as a cash grab opportunity.  But these kinds of alliances is what it desperately needs.

Saudi signing paper agreements with Pakistan doesn’t change a-lot honestly. Riyadh’s biggest trade partners are India, China, the US, and the EU ..not Pakistan. 

The Kingdom won’t jeopardize tens of billions in energy, investment, and diaspora remittances just to back a country whose economy is literally on life support.

Imo: This move by SA came after Israel bombed Qatar and faced absolutely no consequences.  

If anything, this pact gives Saudi some leverage and Pakistan some PR at home, but in an actual conflict SA’s first move will be to stay neutral..because economic survival outweighs symbolic alliances.

Of course it has nothing to do with India. The reason is so obvious. The US is no longer reliable if SA is attacked by Israel. So SA is looking for some hedge. It chose PK because PK is traditionally very close to SA, has nuclear weapons, and is also very close to China. SA cannot go to China directly so this is the best US-acceptable way to hedge the risk.
