we are kind of similar boat but little different because we already have a boy and looking to get a girl only. But my understanding of system is if we go and finish entire process in India we can just add the child on H4. But whole process has to finished and everything done before coming back. Please connect if you have different answer. Also I have unmarried mom wanting to give her boy at delivery for adoption but we are not looking for that so might be something that works for you

Try joining one of the US based India adoption fb groups. There’s a lot of people really knowledgeable about the process in there. But beware, there are also plenty of PAPs (especially white Christian ones) who are not participating in ethical trauma informed adoption.

We haven’t really heard any details about the Abu Dhabi incident, apart from that Instagram source, or whether there were other cases like it.

As long as you have valid documentation and proof you're still employed (EVL, paychecks), then in theory, you should be fine to enter. Some people have talked about LCA amendment for working from India, but H1B/LCA has no meaning outside the US.

Well, it’s not exactly the US’s “fault” that we went and made ourselves this dependent on their system. We’re sitting at 71% visa entries while China is way behind at 14%. Obviously the US is going to use that leverage whenever it suits them — why wouldn’t they? If I were American and saw foreign workers taking a chunk of jobs in my own country, I’d probably be unhappy too. They’re not being “evil masterminds,” they’re just doing what they think is best for their own people.

Meanwhile, we act shocked when they pull the rug out, as if they’re supposed to run their system for our comfort. Cry all we want, but if we build our entire house on someone else’s foundation, we shouldn’t act surprised when the landlord decides to raise the rent

What do you expect India to say, really? Don’t do this or we will bomb you? We will sanction you? We will not issue you visas to India any more?

There is no bilateral agreement the US is breaking that it can complain about.  It’s targeted at Indians because we are the largest recipients of it, but there are no promises at agreements to provide work visas to India.

All India could do was remind the US of the disruption to businesses and economy in both countries that will decline and people who will suffer along with it.

US does not owe us work permits.

Nothing burger, Indian government will not do anything about it. They have no say. If India really wants to become a developed country, then it needs to take advantage of this situation, and get talent back home. Shift from a call centers/services operating country to a product and innovation county. Policies need to change for people to have better job, stability and growth.
