I’m left-handed and we are very much underrepresented. Most of us have gone thru discrimination and torture to deter us from our left-handed lifestyle. The government does not provide us with any benefits or facilities to ease our torment. Do you know that most of us struggle to use a regular pair of scissors ? Ever since i was a kid(yes I've seen lots of them in my lifetime they're discriminated against for sooo long/their rights is just invisible ) i wondered why these people beg on trains.. I've met them ofc some are aggressive /I've also met good people (smiley and playful with kids/hiding their sorrows) in trains and interacted with them. (but imagine being denied the basic rights and being treated worse than animals/and invited only for some blessing functions in some households(how can they make income? ) they're abandoned by their own family... Denied jobs/education..and forced to live in their own circle and they resort to illegal means /violence out of all the hatred they face(also how else will they make money?).. I can't even imagine how much traumatic that must be. 

Just because they're different doesn't mean they don't deserve the rights... I hope this bill is atleast passed..everyone deserves to LIVE..the majority of them are in poorer sections and they deserve the quota... I've seen rich people get jobs/money from quota(i dont want to dive into that) these are the people that absolutely deserve it in my opinion.

To everyone ragging on about "Meritocracy", what's the standard for working a government job nowadays? Memorizing factoids? Scoring in an exam that has minimal to no relation to the job you have to do? Is that the "merit" here?

Yeah good fucking luck getting the right people for the right jobs if all they have to do is go to a fucking exam training center, shut in, and mug up for the rest of their lives until they get the results. I usually like what Tharoor has to say but this bill is Idiotic. We should be going away from reservations slowly and systematically... not introducing more nuanced varities into reservation... it feels like vote bank politics to me.
Your sexual identity and gender identity should have nothing to do in the workplace.

TBH u all don't understand the actual meaning of transgenders. Anyone can start living a transgender vibe biologically. The people in India are not educated about lgbtq terms. Trans is someone who is changing their gender identity because internally they don't feel the same as their own sex. Any talks or debates about Transgender community should include the information about what is transgender for education of people. Transgender is not different in body biologically, people need to know this, people think they are hermaphrodites or xxy or xxx which is exactly wrong perception.

why not? there is already 50 percent reservation already, they also gave ews based on poverty, why not to trans community they are small in number, it ll be easier to uplift them, and they face discrimination in every walk of life, atleast if not in jobs one should reserve seats for them in parliament, they need representation. Okay i have no idea if this is ironic or not, but first of all, lgbtq+ and trans are different, in that, lgbtq+ includes gay , bisexual, lesbian, trans, queer , asexual, intersex, etcectra. You can't mention gay in the title and then only talk about trans people in the post.

Other than, they genuinely do face discrimination, very true, upon searching for it, according to a 2018 survey , 96 percent of trans people were denied jobs because of their identity.While i'm sure things might be slightly better now, but still.

The thing tho, is that for minors, a parent has to file the form for the person to be recorded as transgender and considering how india is, that's never happening.

Exclusion can be faced by different groups on populace in different ways, for example, there could be one trans person completely accepted by their family, their job and workplace and another one that is killed at a young age just for being such.

When looking for factors like exclusion and such, one must look at the average, which in this case would be that they are very massively disproportionately affected by it. Which would also hold true in the case of groups people who already have reservations, the extent of which is very highly debated in subreddits such as these

It's not like  there are no gay toppers. People are just closeted. I scored 678 marks in NEET with my first attempt , 152 marks in the IAT exam with the rank of 1601. I have scored 96.6% in 10th , 94% in 12th. Cleared Navodaya vidyalaya exam in 9th class. Been to the olympiad second level. I have been the member of the SRG batch of ALLEN and I am gay also
