Those look like Potholes covered patches, as vehicle cam also didn't move much. It's not as bad as some of other high way roads. But eother way its still a bad state of road for high way and with rain, over speed bus took horrible turn.

I used drive from HyD - BLR - HyD regularly, it used to take 6 hrs 30 mins for me To complete the journey. Now it takes more than 8 hrs, so I shifted to flights. It’s crowded and there a way too many establishments now - to many 2 wheelers driving in the middle of the road.

Travels busses go at 100-120 even on these roads. Due to Multi axle air suspension, passengers wont feel much bumps.

Driving on Hyderabad - Bengaluru highway is super risky not because road is bad. Mainly because of driving ettiquettes of villagers. This stretch technically should have been 6 lane with 4 lane service roads. It is a nightmare even to drive during daytime. 

Even these private bus operators cut corner in every safety aspect. I stopped using bus service long ago because of these reasons.

This was a semi sleeper bus modified to a sleeper bus made by scania.


Unfortunately after covid semi sleeper buses are not being preferred and forcing operators to go for sleeper buses. Sleeper buses are inherently unsafe. Semi sleeper volvos should become the priority.


A major problem is these pvt operators owned by politicians bribe railway officials and ensure no proper trains run between Bengaluru and different cities. A nice overnight train like 12649 was diverted unnecessarily. Till date only 2 proper overnight trains operate for Bengaluru Hyderabad. One train is unnecessarily curtailed to Yelahanka for no reason and another train on Fridays was cancelled. Same is the story for Ernakulam/Chennai/Coimbatore or even Pune/Mumbai which have zero trains.


Such high traffic cities connected by 1-2 trains whereas even villages in Bihar UP have multiple trains to Delhi/Mumbai.


Bengaluru needs proper railway connectivity to Kerala, Hyderabad, Pune. 


But literally zero trains operate despite heavy demand.


Bus operations are healthy money laundering fronts for politicians and thus this nexus is very difficult to break. Ordinary citizens are fleeced in this nexus.

I was travelling recently through greenline travels. It was an AC sleeper bus. The bus was in such poor condition, the door latch was jammed and i was unable to open it. The windows were completely shut, no option to open it. I was so scared throughout the journey since i was also travelling with my baby. I have raised complaint with Greenline and redbus. Can someone please recommend safe sleeper buses? Are KSRTC buses better?

Wtf? I've been relying on sleeper buses on this route for a long time, although lately I've been feeling apprehensive. There was a close call in recent months when a lorry suddenly changed lanes and the driver had to swirve left onto unpaved, under repair service road. I suddenly wokeup to violent shaking thinking that there was some major accident. There was nothing to hold onto and no safety measure in the berth, which was the scary part. I wish there was one more train at least - the Mys KCG express is always in demand. The YNK KCG starts early so hard to catch in on weekdays. It should start late. The Vandebharath reaches late in the night and for someone like me who has to travel to other districts, it's not much useful. Also, the KCG train should extend till Siddipet at least, which will be very useful for Karimnagar and surrounding places. That bus route is always in demand.

I understand that people have to travel between cities regularly and that overnight sleeper buses are the most convenient ones. But the private bus operators are only interested in making money and do not   
give a shit about safety.  
  
  
If you value your life, avoid taking overnight sleeper buses. Yes it  is inconvenient but life is worth more than convenience.  
  
I remember a few years ago when another such incident happened, it was found that there was gas cylinders in the storage area of bus (they are used for cooking by the bus crew). Go and look for places where these buses are parked during day time. You will find the crew sleeping in the storage areas below the bus and cooking food around the bus.  
The owners of these travels are all politically connected and nothing will happen to them in spite of the multiple accidents and many lives lost.    
  
  
You can only vote with your wallet. Avoid private overnight sleeper buses.. Taker more safer options even if they are inconvenient. Talk to your friends and family and discourage them from using these buses.  
  
Fortunately for me, I do not have to use these buses. But I was dependent on these type of buses when I was younger and I made it a point to avoid sleeper buses. I would take day time seating buses even   
if it meant I lost a day in travel.  
It is just so sad to see so many young lives taken away and no one being held accountable.  
  
*Orissa registered bus with FC from Daman plying between bengaluru and hyderabad. You try to drive a Other state vehicle with KA and you will be harassed but these buses will not be touched. They get them registered in other states taxes are lesser. This should tell you everything you need to know.*

I just wanted to share about one man whose quick thinking and courage saved several lives in last night’s tragic bus accident on the Hyderabad–Bangalore route.

According to reports, the bus caught fire after colliding with a bike around 2:30–2:40 AM. The bike’s petrol tank leaked, and within moments, flames spread across the front section of the bus while most passengers were fast asleep.

One passenger — whose words to the media I’m quoting below — didn’t freeze. He acted.

Because of his courage, several passengers managed to escape.  
It’s heartbreaking that many others couldn’t — the fire spread too quickly for anyone to react.

But this man’s actions saved lives when seconds mattered.  
He didn’t run. He stayed to help strangers.

I genuinely feel he deserves a **national bravery award or some official recognition** for what he did. In moments of chaos and fear, he showed humanity at its purest form.

Bring bag window buses , AC buses are pricy and not worth the risk .
Since most long distance buses ply at night , so open window buses will be just fine

We are all forced to take these buses sometimes ain’t we? It’s just sad that safety is always an afterthought and can be overcome by bribes in our country. I always wondered how flammable those seats in the buses are. Now we know.

Ppl will shout public transport and even force it but this is what the trade off is. Maybe if you advocate for right thing like no more biological kids (unimaginable for most of you since you need a toy to play with or perhaps don't want to give up on comfort possible because of new wage slaves entering the system) then cities won't be so crowded that you need to force yourself into public transport and perhaps you might have wage increase to afford your private vehicle as well.
