Okay not going to do a broken record on killing rapists or rape law and corrupt legal system or control street prostitution.... Going to say something each of us can do to stop this kind of environment for the crime to even be created.

We clearly can't change the legal system, with many politicians there being rapists themselves. They don't care if you or your child gets raped. They have full security to protect them, and their children are safely studying abroad in actual safe countries with the money they loot here. They will pay a few lakhs to a rape victim for good publicity and move on.

This case again seems to be the same modus operandi by these types of gangs, targeting young couples in an isolated area to sexually assault.

First, please don't stigmatize young men and women being together, please give them safe space in a healthy social environment, This is a good thing, it will make couples more safe and more confident and will be more happy under the safety of the decently populated area.  
The more we push young men and women to the corners into the dark by bad-mouthing them, giving them dirty looks, doing all the other kind of nonsense that the usual aunties and uncles  do... the more these young people are going to try to move away from populated areas to isolated space to get some privacy.

These isolated spaces are where these gang rapists attacks, they attack young couples in isolated areas  knowing that the couple might not report the crime to the police because she will be blackmailed or blamed or even honor killed

Not sure if this is useful, but just an insight into social behavior change we can do in India that I have seen abroad where women are so safe not because of laws or police alone but also because their society protects them.

I hope the victim recovers, just really sad that we average more than 1 gang rape every day, and yet we haven't been able to fight it as a society. Really shameful.
