I think there's a lot of overlap in the people who consider all Kashmiris terrorists and those who consider Palestinians as terrorists. Similarly, I think there's overlap in people who acknowledge Kashmiris' suffering under military presence and Palestinians' suffering under the conflict.

Not a bad take, but when you 'take over' religious institutions, you fan extremism. Rather than taking over &amp; detaining people of certain ideology, let's continue doing what was being done pre-bjp era...increase the connect &amp; integration between Kashmiris &amp; Indians through exchanges, tourism &amp; trade.

A common person wants what? Food, security &amp; other basic necessities. First ensure everyone has that. Once they have it, the idea of extremism automatically seems cringe, because your basic necessities are taken care of, and that gives you the leverage to rise above &amp; pursue greater things, see the 'Indian dream', getting money &amp; b*tches. That's how you replace radicalism with capitalism. And, yes, Pakistan will never want that &amp; always try to foment trouble, and hence it is necessary to dismantle the Pak military, not just physically but even mentally. But, all this will not happen if you try to 'take over' religious institutions. Then, the people's emotions will get triggered &amp; they will not think from mind or pocket, but from heart. You have to make the idea of normalcy &amp; integration so exciting that extremism seems cringe. That should be the modus operandi.

And, yes, there will be terror sympathisers, and some of them may have grievances from the Indian state or someone lost to the Indian state. Like we have for Naxals, there should be outreach &amp; employment schemes specifically targeted for them, to de-radicalise them. And, if I am not wrong, it is already there, but somehow either nobody talks about it or it is not that used there like in case of Naxals.

The role of a government should be to move people from extreme to being moderates, and moderates to mainstream. What the government seems to be doing is the opposite.

We should start from UP and take control over religious places first, that's where radicalism starts. Jail anyone who's suspected of spreading Hindutva ideology. Support people who try to break the cycle of religious dogmatism and who try to be more liberal. The government should give protection to them and ensure their safety. Godi media would not focus on long term solutions because it's hard to market, they would rather focus on owning Pakistan and Congress.

Terrorists will never be eradicated unless you focus on uprooting Hindu radicalism. The problem with current model is that if someone that can irritate terrorists aren't given proper security. We tell the person to stop doing what they're doing instead of taking action on terrorists who is giving death threats.

If people can be arrested for cracking a joke then maybe arrest people who are fueling sepratism in the region. The BJP cannot do much without local support and we need to set an example of what might happen if someone joins terrorist outfits.

The illusion of peace in India is fake. For 1 dead terrorists there are 100 to replace them. You've to reach them before separatist do.

When a neighboring foreign power then supplies weapons, training, and funds to this already disaffected population to advance its own geopolitical agenda, the emergence of terrorist groups becomes likely, irrespective of whether the locals are Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, or Jain. Reducing the issue solely to religion ignores the complex interplay of socio-economic factors and external influence, rendering any such solution naive and ineffective.

It's like saying the Troubles in Northern Ireland was solely the result of radical Catholics and Protestants were brainwashed into terrorism (which did happen) while completely dismissing the role discrimination, police brutality, sectarian killings by militias and military occupation played in starting/fueling tensions and conflict. It's only when these issues were finally resolved through the Good Friday Agreement did the violence end in Northern Ireland.

I do encourage anyone reading this to understand this is a complex issue which will require complex solutions to solve. However, following the simpleminded and ignorant thinking of OP is a step backwards, counterproductive and frankly idiotic.

I think our administrators should visit Chechnya and Xinjiang and take notes. 

These places were worse than Kashmir, but Russia and China have turned things around. In 1990, Russia was fighting an all out war against Chechnya, and now, the same Chechnyans are die hard loyal Russian supporters, fighting for Russian Federation in Ukraine. 

They didn't antagonize Muslims and go on a hate spree. Instead they gave them concessions, and found common interests with the local leadership. I guess India got the latter part right. All we need to do now is to fix the antagonizing Muslim part.

And FFS, they shouldn't make the same mistakes like what Israel is doing right now in Palestine.
